AI sentence rewriter vs. regular paraphrasing

Generic paraphrasing tools and sentence rewriters rewrite text in casual, everyday English. That's fine for blog posts — but terrible for a thesis. Our AI paraphrase tool preserves the formal tone, uses discipline-appropriate terminology, maintains hedging language ("suggests" rather than "proves"), and follows the conventions your examiner expects.

Whether you need to rewrite sentences for clarity, rephrase a paragraph to avoid similarity, or use a sentence rephraser to improve flow — our tool handles all three while keeping academic standards. The "More Formal" mode is ideal for upgrading a rough draft. "Simpler Language" helps when your supervisor says "this is too convoluted." "Concise" helps when you're over the word limit.

Important: paraphrasing your OWN text is perfectly legitimate. Paraphrasing someone else's text without citation is plagiarism regardless of how much you rephrase it. Always cite your sources.

When to use each mode

🎓

More Formal

Use when: your rough draft reads too casually, your supervisor wants "more academic" writing, you're converting notes into thesis text, or when writing for a high-impact journal.

Simpler Language

Use when: your examiner says it's too complex, you're writing an abstract (needs to be clear to broad audience), your sentences are longer than 30 words, or when English isn't your first language and you want clarity.

✂️

Concise

Use when: you're over the word limit, your writing is repetitive, journal requires shorter submissions, or you need to fit more content into a section without expanding page count.

FAQ

Is this plagiarism?

Paraphrasing your OWN text is completely legitimate. If you're paraphrasing someone else's work, you MUST still cite the original source — paraphrasing without citation is plagiarism regardless of how different the words are.

What's the word limit?

Without an account: 150 words per request (1 paragraph). Free account: 300 words. Pro (₹199/mo): 1000 words. You can make multiple requests — there's a daily limit of 5 paraphrases per day.

Will my supervisor detect this was AI-paraphrased?

The output maintains natural academic writing style. However, always review and adjust the output to match YOUR voice and your discipline's conventions. Use it as a starting point, not a final draft.

How is this different from Quillbot?

Quillbot is general-purpose. Our tool is specifically tuned for academic writing — it knows the difference between casual rewriting and thesis-appropriate English. It uses hedging language, passive voice where appropriate, and discipline-specific vocabulary.

Can I paraphrase in other languages?

Currently, the tool paraphrases in English only. If you paste text in another language, it will translate AND paraphrase into academic English — which can be useful for non-English source material.
